Pet Health Reminder APP
Book design
Dec 2024
Individual work
A mobile health management app designed to help pet owners track medical records, reminders, and expenses in one centralized system. The project explores modular UI systems and subscription strategy while balancing functional clarity with emotional reassurance.

Problem Statement
How might we help busy pet owners consistently follow pet care schedules without cognitive overload?
A letter from your puppy
Dear mom and dad, I wish I could tell you I’m hurting, but I can’t talk. When you forget my meds, vaccines, or checkups, I don’t just “get over it”—I itch, my stomach twists, my energy disappears. I still follow you around like I’m fine, because that’s my only way to ask for help. But the longer it’s missed, the worse it gets… and I’m stuck suffering in silence, waiting for you to remember.
Everyday Scenario
New pet owners
Multiple caregivers
Pets requiring long-term medication/chronic management
Why it matters?
Practical:
Missed medication, missed injections/delayed follow-up appointments leading to higher costs and more complicated health issues.
Emotional:
Guilt, anxiety, "Did I not take good care of it?"

Designing Goals
How might we turn pet care into a reliable routine through clarity, momentum, and low-friction updates?
Scene 1: Persona
Persona: Sophia
-
26 years old
-
full-time job
-
owns a cat
-
occasionally asks her roommate to help feed the cat.
Problem:
-
Busy, too many things to do
-
often relies on memory rather than external reminders.
Today's goal:
-
Establish a reliable process for the cat's deworming, vaccinations, and follow-up appointments.
Scene 2: Set up
She is:
Quickly creating a pet profile and basic health template.
Why it's important:
She doesn't want to fill out a bunch of forms; she just wants to get started right away.
What this solves:
Minimizes the initial setup steps and prevents users from giving up on the first day.
Scene 3: Set up
What she's doing:
Creating a Monthly Flea Medication + Vaccine schedule from a template.
Why it's important:
She needs the system to keep track of the dates for me, instead of me having to calculate them myself.
What this solves:
It transforms complex periodic management into a one-time decision.
Scene 4: Notification
What she's doing:
Receiving reminders, completing/postponing/logging tasks with one click.
Why it's important:
When busy, people only have 3 seconds of patience; complex operations will be ignored.
What this solves:
Turning reminders into action triggers.
